More Air Links from Wrocław
The airport in Wrocław initiates new links. Both business and tourist clients may benefit from the new offer, as it allows travelling towards European capitals and the seas.

28 links are presently offered by the airport – to this number of cities we may travel directly from the capital of Lower Silesia. No less than 5 of them are new. Among them international flights and domestic connections, some temporary while others permanent, all of them well-suited to the needs of business passengers and tourists.

Once again the cheap airline Ryanair offers a direct link from Wrocław to Rome. Passengers are able to book the tickets, because Rome is already available on the carrier’s online booking services. Flights to Rome will be available twice a week, each Wednesday and Sunday. First of them is scheduled for the 30th of October. Journeys to the cradle of European civilisation, law and culture will be provided by Boeing 737-800 airplanes with 189 seats aboard. Estimated time of such flight is said to be less than 2 hours with landing at Rome-Ciampino, a popular airport used mostly by cheap carriers.

Flights to the largest city of Switzerland are among the most recent offers of the local airport. Links to the world capital of banking and investments are aimed at business clients. Zurich is a major transit airport and Switzerland accommodates multiple research and development centres, to which many global investors travel after visiting their factories and offshoring services’ facilities in Wrocław and Lower Silesia. First flight for this route is planned for September 6. Jetisfaction (a German carrier) will be providing this connection with Saab 340 jets. Departures are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Although new in Wrocław, the flight to Copenhagen is already gladly used by passengers. The Denmark capital has been available as destination since May 2011, but presently the provider (Scandinavian airlines SAS) has extended the range of departures with Tuesdays and Thursdays, so six days of the week are covered altogether. The city of Copenhagen is famous for its colourful architecture, gondolas swimming the canals and world-known fairy tales. However, it is also one of the largest air traffic hubs in Europe, which makes for the popularity of this destination among business travellers.

From Wrocław towards North and South America or Far East one can travel easily and conveniently as well, with the change of flights at Frankfurt am Main (one of the major transit airports in central Europe). Aiming to support the business sector clients, Polish airlines LOT introduced new morning flights to this city. Since May, a takeoff at 8:00 in the morning enables passengers to arrive in Frankfurt for the rush hours there.

An almost 20% gain in the number of passengers using the business connections – is the result of Wrocław’s airport in the first 6 months of 2011. One of the most popular links in this sector is the link to Warsaw. Beginning with August 1 Jet Air joins LOT on this route, with a flight departing at 7:40 in the morning returning 19:40. This is a perfect solution for people travelling to the capital only for one day’s business. Jet Air intends to initiate morning flights from Warsaw to Wrocław with an evening return course. Also LOT adheres to the needs of passengers heading towards the capital. Since July these airlines decided to use larger planes – Boeing 737-500 and Embraer 195, which are all able to board above 100 passengers. Hence, the comfort of flights and availability of tickets shall increase.

Furthermore – since July 1, Wrocław gained a direct access to the sea. Thanks to the Polish carrier Eurolot with its permanent offer of flights to Gdańsk. This link is an answer to all those who had difficulties with choosing the polish Baltic shores as their holiday destination due to long and tiring journey by either car or train. From now on the journey from Wrocław to Gdańsk may take merely 90 minutes. ATR-42 airplanes with 42 seats head toward Tricity twice on Tuesdays and Thursdays and once on other days. After summer, starting on 1st of September there will be a takeoff twice on working days and once on each day of the weekend. This is not the only direct way to reach Baltic. Beginning with August, on each Sunday there is a flight to Heringsdorf in Germany, which happens to be only 13 kilometres from the centre of Świnoujście. This temporary summer flights are a new offer by Jet Air. Firt of these journeys towards the picturesque Uznam island took place on August 7th.
