New Motorway Ring Road a Success
After the opening of MRR (Polish: AOW – Autostradowa Obwodnica Wrocławia) many drivers experienced an improvement in the ease of commuting in the city. Now the drivers’ impression has been confirmed with professional research. Wrocław is presently the quickest to commute from all polish agglomerations (43 per cent increase since March).

Since July this year, average driving speed through town improved by 26%, and in comparison to March we drive a whole 43% faster. The study focused on rush hours. According to its result the average speed of driving is now 29.1 kilometres per hour. There is no doubt this progress is caused by MRR.

Research has been conducted by NaviExpert based on data from the Community Traffic online. Compared to other agglomerations Wrocław does quite well. Average driving spped of 29.1 kph makes a larger impression when confronted with 23 kph from March. MRR improves the situation of both citizens and drivers wanting to bypass the city.
Other cities included in the study: Poznań, Cracow, Warsaw, Katowice, Łódź and Gdańsk. In all of these agglomerations the average rate decreased during summer. Poznań and Warsaw noted 15 and 16% drop respectively and Cracow has suffered a serious fall of 22 per cent.
