IBM and 3M - Most Wanted Regional Employers
Managers and experts in our region wish to work for corporations and international companies – according to a survey conducted by Antal International. Sectors such as automotive industry, telecommunication and IT attract most attention.
First ten on the most wanted employers list in Lower Silesia begins with IBM directly followed by 3M. The third position went to Volvo. Next we can find Wabco, Toyota, Hewlett Packard, Kraft Foods and Whirlpool. From the aforementioned Volvo, Toyota and Wabco are the most attractive automotive industry employers not only for Lower Silesia but for the entire country.
‘International corporations care about their image among potential job candidates by building a strong brand and creating favourable working conditions that enable further professional development. In Wrocław the automotive sector is traditionally the most mature, however IT, telecommunications, industrial manufacturing, FMCG and constantly growing outsourcing centres market are not far behind’ comments Mr. Artur Skiba, managing director of Antal International.
Experts and managers from Lower Silesia do not differ in preferences from their counterparts in other regions. Throughout the whole country global companies with good reputation are the most valued.
The size and prestige of a company is listed as reason for taking up employment by 58% of specialists and executive officers. 50% points out the style and cultural organisation. Salary is mentioned as no more than third of the factors taken into consideration (42% of respondents). Further on the list are promotion prospects and opportunities for training and development.
‘Candidates usually check the market’s opinion on the employer so it is important to take care of it from the start. It is worth considering that information regarding lack of appropriate approach by superiors or frequent changes in the company will eventually reach potential candidates and affect his or her decision to take the job’ explains Mr. Skiba.
The survey called “Most Attractive Employers for Expert and Managers” was conducted in two directions. CATI and CAWI research was done in the period of June 30 – July 20 2011. 1974 respondents took part in the study.
